First this note; if I don't somehow put this on my top 10 list at the end of the year, then someone put out an A.P.B. for me. Thereis so much going on here musically that my head is likely to explode before I finish listening, but this is one of the most endearing things I've heard in years. Everything from police whistles, kazoos, a bucket and a physics book contribute to an indie twee pop sound that also includes more traditional instrumentation. The songs are bouncy pop tunes, song titles implore you to 'Shut Up and Rock', lyrics that hope that summer never ends, and enough perkiness to keep your head spinning for ages. Another contributing factor to the sweetness and purity of this is the simple productionb; each of the 30 some odd 'instruments' seems to shine through, and because there are so many things used to creat this sound, each song has a very unique quality. Mastered by Robert Schneider of Apples in Stereo, and it defintely has teh E6 feeel to it. Think Kung FuMOnkeys and Beach Boys, think theCrabs and Of Montreal, think harmonies and handclaps. This as perfect a release I've heard in a long time.
